Field to Vase

Field to Vase served as a collaborative online resource to help the public understand the growing movement of localizing the flower industry in the United States.

Similar to the farm-to-table food movement, we coined the phrase field-to-vase to shed light on the resurgence of going "back to the roots" of growing and purchasing local, organic, sustainable, field grown, fresh cut flowers.

For 2 years I served as both the Editor in Chief and Managing Editor, juggling 50+ blog contributors making sure the content was fresh and consistent in style and managing our social media presence across multiple platforms.

Field to Vase was a project funded by Farmgirl Flowers, a socially-conscious alternative to the leading eCommerce flower companies committed to using domestic homegrown flowers and minimizing waste by wrapping daily arrangements in coffee bean burlap sacks.

“Kendra was a dream to work with! Her creativity, enthusiasm, and incredible work ethic are so hard to find these days and the dedication she offered to our Field to Vase project was so appreciated. I would work with her again in a heartbeat!”
